On Thursday we made a trip to pick up a few things for Promise House
before we headed out of town for the weekend....Yes!  This is our weekend off.
As I walked in the doors of Sam's I was taken back in time
to Easter's of my childhood on Alabama Street.
This would be the home of my Mom's parents.

My grandmother must have loved the Lily plant because every year she got one or two then she would have it planted in the front yard to the right of the doorsteps.

As I saw the display of the Lilly's it was almost like it was yesterday
I love plants and I was always checking on the Lilly's in the spring to see if they were gonna bloom....
There weren't as many as in the picture below but they were always beautiful when in bloom.

My Mom was one of 10 children.  At Easter time there was always plenty of cousins to have a great big Easter egg hunt with at Grandma's .... But we had to be extra careful and not get in the flower beds
cause if that Lilly fell off the "real" Lilly Marie would be hot stomping mad!
I am getting tickeled as I write....maybe that is why she loved them so much....
Grandma's name was Lilly Marie.

Happy Easter!
