Yes, it is true
I did deliver a baby at Promise House.
Everyone ask: "O, so you would do it again since you have experience?"
I reply: "You must be crazy!"
Our baby did come in less than 7 minutes
But our ambulance made it faster than that!!
Baby and Momma are doing just great!
Although the Promise House midwife is still in shock!
I think that if I ever decided to return to school
that Midwifery classes would be the one I would choose!
Baby weighed in at 7 1/2 pounds
He was 20 1/2 inches long with a head full of black curly hair.
He is beautiful
But then I would think so!
I spare all the details
but believe me it was all real!
This baby will always be special
Since I am the one who caught him and brought him into this world
For those of you that know me well
I did not pass out or panick
cause as the old saying goes:
If God can bring me to it.
He will bring me through it!
Yes, I truly believe it now!
Susan
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you HOPE and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Busy As A Bee....O Me!
Better late than never....Soldier B's Quilt
Our girls made the table decorations for the Welcome Back Teachers Luncheon.
The teachers enjoyed the "Whole Hog Cafe" pulled pork, BBQ beans and the Potato Salad
We had a Senior Adult Group come to paint our halls and Club rooms.
Another shot of the rooms.....
We even had help tightening and gluing the legs to our dining room chairs.
Then we had a couple of days off and we are back at work with our girls.
We did here from Soldier B from overseas on Sunday....He is doing well.
As for me....well, I can say one month down and 11 more to go!!!

Our Last Two Days
Some of us felt like Toto and Dorothy on Friday evening
Just as we sat down to supper, which was BBQ chicken drums..yum!
The first siren for the evening blared out into our so quiet home.
The girls were awesome!
They all moved at a fast pace but not running...to the East hallway.
This was our first real tornado siren since August 2008
As I got to them ...they were excited and had all kinds of questions
I told them to settle down "Toto" we would all be ok
I gathered pillows and covers then begin to answer the questions
I was amazed at the girls that had never heard a tornado siren before
Here in the city we get our weekly one every Wednesday at noon.
We were able to get up before long but then headed back to the hallway within 15 minutes
We were the fornuate ones that did not have a tornado come too close to us
Many were left without homes, family or friends before Friday and Saturday night were over.
I was scanning the pictures on Arkansas Matters when I came across the video below
If we could have all fit in a tub or had a tub to fit in...ha! we all have showers here!
This would have been us exactly.
I love the bigger dog playing with the seemingly smaller dog!

Where we are now...
We have currently moved to Little Rock to be houseparents with the Arkansas Baptist Children's Home at the Promise House which is for unwed pregnant teenagers. We are moved in but unpacking has been really slow. For one we moved from a three bedroom house thinking we had downsized (such a better word than "thrown away" our stuff) enough for the move. NOT! So we are still working on that part of our life. Look for soon quotes from the girls and more about Promise House!
